Big emotions for the Second Edition of the Abierto de Tenis de Los Cabos

Los Cabos , Baja California Sur. March 22nd, 2017.- The second edition of the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Mifel presentado por Cinemex in Los Cabos, programmed to take place from July 31st to August 5th, is emerging to start its consolidation process as a growing competition established as a reference for players and fans on The Association of Tennis Professionals  (ATP tour).

During its oficial launching in Delmar International School in Cabo del Mar, José Antonio Fernández, tournament director, said that after thetournament´s debut last year the new commitment is focused on providing a better spectacle to the fans.

“For Grupo Pegaso, it is an honor to be back here in Los Cabos making the announcment of the Second Edition of the Abierto de Tenis, which I am sure will bring big emotions just like it did in 2016”, he added. “After taking the first step, we have worked very hard in promotiong the event, because in addition to making a sporting offer through tennis, we are committed to positioning Los Cabos as a world-class tourist destination.

" This announcement was witnessed by Rodgrigo Esponda, general director of Los Cabos Trust; Rosa María Guzmán, director of the Delmar Institute; Salvador Zumaya, director of the sport of Los Cabos and Carlos Escobosa, commercial director of Hotel Solaz.

For the 2017 edition, the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Mifel presentado por Cinemex in Los Cabos will have the attendence of the spanish player, Feliciano López, currently ranked 36 and finalist of the 2016 but was gracefully defeated by the Croatian Ivo Karlovic and lost the title.

The tournament is part of The ATP World Tour 250 series, and offers more than 700,000 USD. It is programmed to take place during the week before the 1000 Master tournaments in Montreal and Cincinnati, as part of the hard court season that comes before the US Open.

With the launching of the tournament, also comes the pre-sale of tickets with daily prices starting at 390 pesos. The three and six day allowances in the silver, gold and platinum zones, with a price between 4,705 to 8,900 pesos, which will also be available in the lobby of the Hampton Inn hotel in San Jose del Cabo as well as in Delmar International School in Cabo San Lucas.
